1999/98/97 Meeting and events reviews/pictures
Meeting of Nov 30/99
About 80 people showed up (packed the room!). Rolf Eipper (one of our fearless
club leaders) showed the Canadian stereo slide entries
PSA competition that was just held in Toronto. Slides from
stereo-photographers of across Canada including some that were
entered by our members. Slides were well received with subjects ranging
from portraitures to scenic views. Eva and Peter gave some background on taking
stereo pictures which was helpful to those not familiar with the
We have some pictures of the meeting taken by
Peter Lowery, as well as pictures taken by John Asbacher of
the Gary Greenspoon's Tibet show.
- Meeting of Sep 28/99
About 15 people showed up (seems to be always around this number but
interestingly always with new people showing). Meeting began with everyone
viewing what people had brought. Gary Cullen then presented his slides of his
recent trip to Europe with his exploits of Citroens.
Meeting of July 27/99
About 15 people showed up. Peter Lowery started the evening with 3D tid-bits.
Dragan Smekal followed with some of his stereo slides of human brain
dissections, shown with twin 35mm slide projectors. After intermission, Chris
Abramski talked on some of the directions and developments in 3D. This was
followed by projection of some historic View-Master reels of the moon
landing (Peter Lowery's, in honor of the space shuttle landing that evening).
Evening finished with projections of a small selection of Eva and Voytek's
full frame stereo pairs of their NewWest acreage (my, what a difference full
Meeting of May 25/99
About 16 people showed up. I (Bernd) gave a presentation of my experience with shooting
stereo slides for the first time along with slides taken of my Barbados holiday. Peter
Lowery followed with a selection of his favourites. Part of the news bits section included
an intro to our new listserv.
- Meeting of March 30/99
About 30 people showed up. Spectacular presentation by Eva and Voytek using 4 projectors.
Several other presentations, great meeting over all!

- Meeting of Oct 26/98
- 14 people showed up (probably small because we (I) forget to get
notices out on time). The evening began with everyone browsing through the various things
that people brought (there was lots to look at) and small group discussions developed.
Even though discussions and browsing is one of my most enjoyable parts of the
meeting, I had to cut them short so we could have the slide presentation.
- Gary Cullen used a view master projector to present some historic
reels of Nasa's lunar mission (space in 3D) as well as some historic reels of Vancouver
and Victoria (great to see Vancouver Hotel without Eaton's center in the way!). We then
previewed of few of David & April Kite first 3D pictures (welcome new members!), an
excellent start into 3D photography. Peter Lowery then gave a few slides of his work
including notably some from his neon sign collection and a few of fashion models (he
promised nudes for next time!).
- Meeting of Jun 29/98
- 19 people showed up. The evening was packed full lasting till 11pm. Peter Lowery began
with his regular tid-bits of 3D news and then continued with a presentation of projected
anaglyphs. Ernst Schait & Gene Abston then presented their stereo work of slide pairs
taken by moving the camera, projected with two slide projectors. The evening's final
presentation was by John Asbacher shown also on dual slide projectors with shots from dual
cameras at 2-3ft separation.
First Meeting of Oct
